4 Hours Later...

Read previous post first. She posted at 9:10 pm that the baby had not come yet. 4 hours and 10 minutes later she wakes me up and says I'm having contractions. 10 hours and 33 minutes later (11:53am for those trying to do the math) we are holding Hailey Michelle Held in our arms. She weighed 6 lbs 2 oz, was 18.5 inches long and 3 weeks early. Sarah fits that profile almost exactly. The only thing that was different between Sarah and Hailey was half an inch! Sarah was 19 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing great. Sorry I don't have pictures. They are on the camera still at the hospital. I will get them up as soon as I can. This makes for a perfect Mother's Day. Mom and baby get to come home on Sunday. A great big thanks to all those who have come to visit, helped with Sarah, and who have already volunteered for help. You are the best!
BTW - Julie says that I have to tell everyone that I (Kevin) wrote this and not her. It seems obvious but you never know. (Evil Ha Ha Ha)

Baby Update

Hi everyone. I just wanted to post a quick note and let you all know the baby has not come yet. I am being induced on May 23 so I have about two weeks left! I can't wait. Of course right now everything is difficult and uncomfortable. Sleep is a thing of the past so I am tired and run down all the time but I'm trying to hang in there.

Sarah has been testing her boundaries lately and that doesn't help things. I'm trying different tactics with her and some of them seem to work some don't. I keep telling her the baby will be here soon and she responds with, "baby sister". So she understands this new baby is her sister but I'm not sure she really gets that a little baby will soon come to permanently live with us. I know she will be a big help though. The past few weeks she has really started playing with her baby doll again. She rocks her, sings to her, puts her down for naps, feeds her and pats her when she's "crying". She also likes to give her baby hugs and kisses and tells her she loves her. I tell Sarah she is such a good mommy and that makes her happy.

As far as the nesting goes, there are still many things I would like to get done before the baby comes but I just don't have the energy to get it all done. Oh well, I'm willing to live with that.

Kevin and I are still trying to pick out a name. We have one in mind but we just can't commit to it until we see her. I'll try and get a preggo picture of me posted in the next week or so. I know those are always fun to see.
